Burna Boy ejects couple from concert in US [VIDEO]

0

Grammy-winning Nigerian artiste, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has stirred controversy after ordering a couple out of his concert in Denver, United States, on Wednesday night for allegedly sleeping during his live performance.

In a viral video from the event, Burna Boy halted his performance midway after spotting the couple seated in the front row, appearing disinterested.

“When I stand up here and see you over there with your girl sleeping in front of me, it pisses me the fk off. So please, take her the fk home. Walahi, I’m not performing another song till you go home,” Burna Boy said angrily.

The male fan initially hesitated, but the crowd began chanting for the pair to leave, prompting the couple—especially the visibly embarrassed lady—to exit the venue. The singer then resumed his performance to cheers from the audience.

The incident has triggered mixed reactions online. While some fans defended Burna Boy’s insistence on maintaining energy at his shows, others criticised him for disrespecting paying concertgoers.

This is not the first time Burna Boy has drawn backlash over his treatment of fans. He previously kicked a starstruck male fan off stage during a Lagos concert and once stopped a show to eject an attendee who wasn’t dancing.

Obidient Movement’s Director, Morris Monye, Resigns, accuses Peter Obi of Neglect

0

Morris Monye, the Director of Mobilization of the Obidient Movement, has announced his resignation from the position, citing unfulfilled goals, lack of structure, and personal harassment within the group.

In a statement personally signed and released to journalists on Thursday, Monye said his decision followed deep frustration with the state of the movement, which was formed to promote the 2023 presidential ambition of Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi.

According to him, despite his passion and personal financial contributions, the movement’s poor performance during the recent Anambra election made his role “untenable.”

Monye accused Obi of neglecting the movement, alleging that there had been no communication between the former Anambra governor and the leadership of the mobilization directorate.

“No money was given to the Directorate of Mobilization. There’s no bank account even for the directorate. In fact, Mr. Peter Obi has never asked what we are doing in mobilization — no communication, nothing,” he said.

He lamented that most of the group’s short-, medium-, and long-term goals had not been achieved nearly a year after they were set, stressing that he would not “be part of optics without real work.”

Monye further revealed that he personally raised funds to support the Obidient candidate in the just-concluded Anambra gubernatorial election and had initiated a project to equip polling unit agents with affordable body cameras for election accountability.

He urged his successor to complete the body camera initiative, noting that it remained a crucial step toward transparency in future elections.

Ned Nwoko: Regina Daniels introduces me to drugs, she’s a lesbian- Laila

0

Laila Charani, the Moroccan wife of Senator Ned Nwoko, has accused her co-wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, of introducing her to drug use and engaging in same-sex relationships.

Charani made the allegations in an Instagram post on Thursday, following Regina Daniels’ claims that other wives in the family were involved in drugs — an offshoot of the ongoing marital feud involving the Nwokos.

According to Laila, Regina Daniels was the one who exposed her to drugs six years ago, but her husband’s quick intervention helped her recover and save her marriage.

“You know too well that I almost lost my marriage when you introduced me to drugs six years ago, and it was my husband’s quick insistence on intervention that rescued me from that dark path,” she wrote.

Laila also accused Regina of influencing domestic staff negatively and engaging in sexual relationships with women around her.

“You have been a bad influence since you married into this beautiful family — giving drugs to nannies, workers, and even your younger sister, Destiny. You were sleeping with every single girl around you,” she alleged.

She further claimed that the real reason for Regina’s current disagreement with Senator Nwoko is his demand for her to quit drugs and alcohol, adding that the lawmaker neither smokes nor drinks.

Charani advised Regina to seek professional help and stop involving other wives in her issues with their husband.

As of press time, Regina Daniels had not responded to Laila Charani’s allegations.

The Naira on Wednesday suffered its steepest daily fall against the US dollar this week at the official foreign exchange market, despite a steady rise in Nigeria’s foreign reserves.

According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Naira weakened further to N1,443.08 per dollar, down from N1,438.71 recorded on Tuesday — a daily loss of N4.3.

At the parallel market, however, the Naira remained unchanged at N1,465 per dollar, maintaining the same rate as the previous day.

Wednesday’s slump marks the sharpest depreciation this week, following earlier declines of N2.1 on both Monday and Tuesday.

The downturn comes amid reports that the country’s foreign reserves continue to grow, reaching $43.37 billion as of November 10, 2025, according to the latest CBN figures.

Economists say the widening gap between the rising reserves and the weakening Naira underscores lingering concerns over market confidence and forex liquidity pressures.

Nnamdi Kanu Files Fresh Appeal, Seeks to Stop Court from delivering Nov 20 Judgment

Nnamdi Kanu

The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has filed a fresh motion before the Court of Appeal seeking to halt further proceedings in his ongoing terrorism trial before Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

In the application filed on Wednesday, Kanu asked the appellate court to issue an order stopping the delivery of judgment earlier fixed for November 20, 2025, pending the determination of his appeal challenging the trial court’s decisions.

According to the motion filed pursuant to Section 36(1) of the Nigerian Constitution, Kanu contended that proceeding with the case would violate his constitutional right to a fair hearing, as key jurisdictional issues remain unresolved.

His appeal, forwarded Nigerian Newssphere by his Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, specifically challenged the trial court’s refusal to rule on his “no-case submission,” its decision to proceed despite alleged defects in the terrorism charges, and its foreclosure of his right to call witnesses in his defence.

Kanu argued that the trial court “refused to determine its jurisdiction and the validity of the counts under which the appellant is being tried,” insisting that continuing the trial under a repealed terrorism law amounts to a grave miscarriage of justice.

He further warned that if the application is not granted, he risks being “unlawfully convicted without the opportunity to know the validity of the counts or offer a proper defence.”

In an affidavit personally deposed to from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), Kanu stated that he had personally assumed responsibility for his defence and appeal, adding that his latest appeal raises “substantial and constitutional issues of law,” including the trial court’s alleged reliance on repealed statutes and disregard of Supreme Court directives.

The case, which has dragged on since 2015, remains one of Nigeria’s most closely watched legal battles, with implications for both the judicial process and the wider Biafra agitation.

If the Court of Appeal grants Kanu’s request, the November 20 judgment date could be suspended pending the outcome of the new appeal.

Nigerian Market Meltdown: NGX records N4.6tn losses as Dangote Cement, MTN, Oando lead massive sell-off

0

No doubt the Nigerian stock market is having its worst time. This comes as Nigerian Exchange Limited suffered its biggest loss in history on Tuesday, wiping off a staggering N4.6 trillion from investors’ wealth as panic sell-offs hit heavyweight stocks like Dangote Cement, MTN and Oando.

According to market data from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the market’s downward spiral deepened as equities continued to tumble under heavy pressure from investors dumping major stocks.

The total market capitalisation, which opened at N94.526 trillion, crashed by N4.642 trillion to close at N89.884 trillion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) nosedived by 7,454.60 points (5.01%), settling at 141,327.30 points, down from 148,781.90 on Monday.

This marks one of the most dramatic single-day losses ever recorded on the NGX, dragging the year-to-date return down to 37.31%.

For the first time in NGX’s trading history, the market breadth closed extremely negative — 61 losers against just 4 gainers.

Dangote Cement and Oando were the biggest casualties of the sell-off, both plunging by 10% each to close at N594 and N429.30 per share, respectively.

Dangote Cement and MTN led the decliners’ table by 10 per cent each, ending the session at N594 and N429.30 per share, respectively.

Also, BUA Cement and Transcorp Power dipped by 10 per cent each, closing at N162, N39.60 and N36 per share, respectively.

On the flip side, NCR Nigeria managed to top the gainers’ chart, rising by 9.82 percent.

Despite the losses, trading activity surged — with 80% growth in volume and a 159% spike in turnover, as investors scrambled to offload stocks.

A total of 655.9 million shares worth N29.4 billion exchanged hands across 29,558 deals, up from 364.4 million shares valued at N11.4 billion traded on Monday.

FBN HoldCo led in volume with 68.27 million shares traded, while GEREGU Power Plc recorded the highest value at N4.42 billion.

Speaking on the market crash, David Adonri, Vice Chairman of Highcap Securities Ltd., blamed the steep decline on a mix of factors — weak Q3 earnings, investor panic over policy misinterpretations, and fears surrounding a proposed 30% capital gains tax.

According to him, the market’s weakness had already surfaced last week before U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments on Nigeria’s reforms triggered more uncertainty.

“Several banks failed to sustain their dividend levels, while the consumer goods sector posted poor results. These weak fundamentals set the tone for the crash,” Adonri said.

He added that Trump’s remarks, though meant to be positive, were misread by investors, causing panic exits and a massive erosion of confidence.

Adonri also warned that the planned capital gains tax hike has frightened institutional and foreign investors, describing it as a ‘jumbo tax penalty’.

“Many big investors are already pulling out or holding back new investments,” he noted.
