Transfer Deadline Day: Chelsea’s Jackson secures deal, Guehi joins Liverpool

A deadline transfer deal has now been agreed between Chelsea and Bayern Munich for Nicolas Jackson.

Sky Sports reports that Chelsea have got the obligation element they wanted in the initial loan agreement with Bayern Munich for the Senegalese’s transfer.

The loan fee has been negotiated up to £14.2million, while the obligation to buy has been agreed at £56.2million, with the total package worth £70.5million.

Jackson’s move is subject to Chelsea board approval and completion of documents today.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have agreed a £35million deal for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.

The former Chelsea star is set to undergo his medical with the Arne Slot’s side today.

Guehi has been given permission by Crystal Palace to undergo his medical, which will take place in London.

They’re crooks – Biafran agitator Ajaere slams Finnish Govt for Simon Ekpa’s six-year imprisonment

A Biafra agitator, Raphael Ajaere, has condemned the sentence of Simon Ekpa, prime minister of the Biafra Government in Exile by Finnish authorities.

Ajaere made his criticism known in a statement on his X account on Monday.

His comment comes as Nigerian Newssphere reports that a Finnish court on Monday handed Ekpa a six-year imprisonment jail term over terrorism-related offences.

However, Ajaere’s sentence has proved how compromised Finland and the entire West are.

He said that Ekpa would come out stronger.

“Now we know it’s 6 years. Finland Has Proved How Crooked The Entire West Is. PM is strong.And Determined, NEVER To Give Up. And so also does BRGIE & Pst Vam Vam Vam. “We Move Regardless,” he wrote on his X account.

Recall that upon Ekpa’s conviction, the Nigerian government, in a statement by the Minister of Information Mohammed Idris, described the sentence as a victory for the country.

Also, the Indigenous People Of Biafra, in a statement by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, said the “Nigerian state is orchestrating this smear campaign as a diversionary tactic, timed precisely to contaminate the upcoming ruling on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s no-case submission.”

The prime of the Prime of Biafra Government in Exile and Biafra freedom fighter has been handed a six-year sentence over claims of terrorism in Nigeria.

Mazi Ekpa, who was arrested on 21st November last year, has been in Finnish court during this period.

PM Ekpa was remanded in custody by the Päijät-Häme District Court despite calls for his release by Biafrans.

However, Finland recently sentenced him for “public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent”, an alleged offence dating from August 2021 to November 2024.

Leaders of Biafra are yet to react to Ekpa’s sentence as of filing this report.

Meanwhile, a source close to PM Ekpa who preferred anonymity told Nigerian Newssphere that the sentence will not deter Biafra liberation.

According to him, PM Ekpa will come out stronger.

“PM EKPA will come out stronger. Enemies of Biafra will be put to shame.”

FCT Head of Service, Adayilo is dead

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Mrs Grace Adayilo, is dead.

According to DAILY POST, Lere Olayinka, Media aide to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike confirmed this on Monday morning.

The Permanent Secretary, Adayilpa died in the early hours of Monday.

The Minister also confirmed the incident during a media chat, stating that if he was aware of the development, the chat would have been placed on hold.

“If I had gotten the information on the demise of the FCT head of Service, I would have put off this media chat”, he said.

 

 

EPL: Arteta blames Eberechi Eze after Arsenal’s loss to Liverpool

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has blamed his new player, Eberechi Eze following their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners were beaten 1-0 by the Reds, with Dominik Szoboszlai firing in from over 30 yards to earn the defending champions all three points.

Former Governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai, has lambasted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he once supported in the 2023 general elections.

He said 30 million Nigerians have fallen into poverty and agriculture has been destroyed under President Bola Ahmed.

He disclosed this during an interview with Channels Television on Sunday.

He noted that under Tinubu’s government the foreign exchange rate has also dropped from N400 to N1600.

“The one that is here now, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that we all supported to be president, has been given the opportunity. What are the results?

“We have moved the exchange rate from N400 to N1,600; 30 million people have fallen into poverty. Agriculture has been destroyed because of stupid policies of making food cheaper through to importation”, he said.

He added, “I am not the only person qualified to call it evil because I know evil when I see it”.

It was reported that the foreign exchange rate stood at N1,531.57 at the foreign  market as of Friday last week.

Phyna’s sister Ruth is dead after Dangote’s truck accident

Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, is dead after being crushed by a Dangote Cement truck.

The family announced her passing on Sunday through a statement by Eko Solicitors & Advocates.

The family said Ruth passed on to glory on Sunday, at about 6:30 a.m.

“With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st day of August, 2025, at about 06:30 hrs,” the statement read.

“The funeral arrangement will be communicated to the public in due course,” the statement added.

Recall that Ruth was crushed in Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

After outrage by Phyna after her sister’s legs were amputated. In reacting, Dangote Cement had pledged to take care of Ruth’s health.

However, Phyna in a recent statement said the company failed to send her sister abroad.

Further details showed that the accident occurred only six days after Ruth graduated from Auchi Polytechnic.
