Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has spoken out for the first time since the ongoing controversy involving him and his wife, Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, began dominating social media.
In a brief post shared via his Instagram Story on Wednesday, the award-winning artiste wrote simply: “Help me.”
His statement came just hours after his brother, Hyacinth Idibia, expressed concern in an emotional Instagram message, referencing lyrics from one of 2Baba’s songs.
“You’ve always been ahead, always been brilliant. Lyrics meant to inspire, but somehow it’s unfolding in real time… painful reality. Allow us to save you. You’ve been suffering for too long. God knows,” Hyacinth wrote.
The latest development adds to weeks of public tension between 2Baba and Osawaru.
Trouble reportedly started in the United Kingdom, where the couple allegedly had a heated altercation that led to police intervention and the musician’s brief arrest.
The matter resurfaced during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, during which the pair exchanged words on camera.
The series of incidents has intensified speculation about a deepening marital crisis, with many fans expressing concern for 2Baba’s emotional and mental well-being.
