Nigeria’s currency, the Naira, recorded a slight depreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, showed that the Naira exchanged at N1,357.18 per dollar, compared to N1,356.27 recorded on Monday.
The latest figure represents a decline of 90 kobo against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.
However, the Naira remained unchanged at the parallel market, where it traded at N1,395 per dollar, the same rate recorded a day earlier.
The mixed performance across the official and black market segments comes as Nigeria’s external reserves stood at $50.81 billion as of June 15, 2026.
The development follows the Naira’s appreciation at the official foreign exchange market on Monday, when the local currency opened the week on a positive note.
