United States President Donald Trump has announced the completion of a peace agreement with Iran.
The deal means an end to hostilities and authorizing the reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Trump disclosed this in a statement on his social media platform on Sunday.
“The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” Trump wrote.
He thereafter ordered the immediate removal of the United States naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz months after prolonged hostility.
“Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” the US president stated.
This comes after months of conflict escalation between the US and Israel and Iran, which started on February 28th, 2026.
