Barcelona can’t afford Harry Kane deal — Bayern President Hoeness

0

Honary President of Bayern Munich, Uli Hoeness, has dismissed speculation linking Harry Kane with a move to FC Barcelona, insisting the Spanish giants do not have the financial capacity to sign the striker.

Hoeness also expressed confidence that Kane will remain at Bayern beyond this summer despite ongoing transfer rumors.

The England captain underlined his importance to the Bundesliga champions after scoring a hat-trick in Bayern’s 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, a result that secured the DFB-Pokal title.

Kane ended the campaign with an impressive 61 goals across all competitions.

Although the 32-year-old still has a contract running until 2027, reports have linked him with a potential switch to Barcelona.

Speaking to Das Erste, Hoeness described Kane as one of Bayern’s greatest signings.

“Harry Kane is the best transfer we’ve ever made,” he said.

“Bayern is a buying club, not a selling club.”

When asked if he could guarantee Kane would stay at Bayern, Hoeneß replied: “Yes, and Barcelona have no money anyway.”

Hull City clinched promotion to the Premier League after defeating Middlesbrough 1-0 in the Championship play-off final on Saturday.

The Tigers became the first club since Blackpool to finish sixth in the regular Championship season and still earn promotion to the English top flight.

The decisive moment came deep into stoppage time when Oli McBurnie capitalized on a costly goalkeeping mistake to score the winner in the 94th minute.

Middlesbrough goalkeeper Sol Brynn punched a cross into a dangerous area, allowing McBurnie to react quickest and prod home from close range.

Hull City will now join Coventry City and Ipswich Town in next season’s Premier League campaign.

For Middlesbrough, who were reinstated into the play-offs following Southampton’s “Spygate” controversy, the defeat means another season in the Championship.

2027: I can’t run away—Peter Obi finally speaks on his problem with Atiku

Presidential aspirant of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi has dismissed claims that he is avoiding former Vice President Atiku Abubakar amid recent political developments.

Speaking on Friday during the Spier Dialogue 2026 in Cape Town, Obi described Atiku as a respected leader and older brother, insisting there was no conflict between them.

“Not many people are as close to Atiku as I am, so I can’t be running from him. This man is my highly respected leader and older brother,” Obi said.

“I don’t run from him. Never. It doesn’t involve escaping from anyone. I’ve never run from anybody. I just think I go about things in a different way,” he added.

Obi’s remarks come amid speculation over tensions in his political relationship with Atiku following recent coalition realignments ahead of the 2027 general election.

Both politicians had earlier adopted the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as a coalition platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Obi officially joined the ADC on January 1, 2026, before later defecting to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

Born in Harlem, New York, Rob Base rose to global fame as one-half of the hip-hop duo Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock.

The pair became internationally recognised after releasing the 1988 hit It Takes Two, a track widely credited with helping hip-hop break into mainstream pop culture and club music.

The song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Songs chart and later earned platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.

In a previous interview, Rob Base revealed that the hit track was created almost by accident after the duo stumbled upon the Lyn Collins sample shortly before recording.

He also admitted he never expected the song to become a global phenomenon.

Rob Base is widely remembered as one of the pioneering figures who helped elevate hip-hop from the streets of New York to international mainstream culture.
