Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has predicted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, will lose the 2027 presidential election.
Lawal made the assertion during an interview on Symfoni TV, where he rated the chances of the major contenders ahead of the poll.
According to the former SGF, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, have a 70 percent chance of winning the election.
He also assessed the prospects of President Bola Tinubu, giving the incumbent a 50 percent chance.
“Atiku Abubakar will definitely lose the 2027 election. I pray he loses. I’m not the only one who wants this, but he will surely lose.
“Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, I’m pairing them, have a 70 percent chance on my own scale. Peter Obi always tries to do what is right. President Bola Tinubu has 50 percent,” Lawal said.
Lawal’s comments come after his fallout with Atiku, which culminated in his resignation from the ADC.
The former SGF has repeatedly alleged that the ADC presidential primary election that produced Atiku as the party’s candidate was marred by widespread irregularities and was “massively rigged.”
