I’ve hugged him only once—BBNaija’s Tega speaks on sexual relationship with Frank Edoho

0

Former Big Brother Naija star Tega Dominic has reacted to allegations made by Sandra, the estranged wife of TV host Frank Edoho, who accused her and others of having affairs with him, including within their matrimonial home.

In a statement shared on her X handle, Tega dismissed the allegations, insisting she has never had a sexual or emotional relationship with Edoho.

According to her, their friendship began around mid-2025 after the television personality sent birthday wishes to her mother. She explained that they had already known each other through social media and mutual acquaintances within the entertainment industry.

Tega further stated that the only time she met Edoho physically was in the presence of her manager, Paul Ukonu.

“I honestly did not want to speak on this because I have spent a long time trying to stay away from unnecessary drama, but at this point, my silence is no longer helping,” she wrote.

She described Edoho as “a great guy” and “a very good friend,” stressing that there was never anything inappropriate between them.

The reality star also maintained that she had nothing to hide and would openly admit if there had ever been a romantic relationship between them.

“If I ever had anything to do with Frank romantically, I would say it with my full chest. He was separated at the time, and I am also separated,” she added.

Tega said she has worked hard to build her brand and would not allow what she described as false accusations to damage her reputation.

Calling for evidence to support the claims, she warned that she would not allow her name to be dragged into “false narratives” and disclosed that her lawyers would handle the matter going forward.

FA Cup final: Guardiola, Chelsea seek end to title drought at Wembley

0

For the first time in FA Cup history, Manchester City and Chelsea FC will clash in the final, with both sides hoping to overcome unwanted records at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The city heads into the encounter carrying the disappointment of losing their last two FA Cup finals—first to Manchester United and then to Crystal Palace FC.

City Manager Pep Guardiola will be eager to avoid a third straight defeat in the competition’s showpiece event.

Chelsea, meanwhile, has endured their own frustrations at Wembley. The Blues reached the FA Cup finals in 2017 and 2018, losing to Arsenal FC before bouncing back a year later with a victory over Manchester United.

Since that triumph, however, Chelsea have suffered six consecutive defeats in finals played at Wembley.

Manchester City go into the match as favorites following a strong run of form as they continue their pursuit of a domestic treble. Guardiola’s men have already beaten Arsenal to win the Carabao Cup and remain two points behind the Gunners in the Premier League title race with two matches left to play.

Victory in the FA Cup final would also move City closer to completing a domestic double before the final week of the season.

Despite City’s status as favorites, Chelsea cannot be ruled out. The London side has often thrived when entering major games as underdogs.

Winning the FA Cup against City would also provide a positive ending to what has otherwise been a disappointing campaign for Chelsea.

‘Truth can’t be hidden’—Sheikh Gumi reacts to elimination of ISIS’s top terrorist in Nigeria

Controversial Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi has urged Nigeria to learn from what he described as the “failures” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Gumi’s reaction followed the killing of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, said to be the second in command of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria globally, during a joint operation involving United States and Nigerian forces.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, the cleric shared a cryptic message shortly after US President Donald Trump announced the operation.

“The truth cannot be hidden from all,” Gumi wrote.

Quoting a Hadith, he added, “God gives through leniency success that cannot be achieved through violence.”

He further stated: “I hope Nigeria takes a leaf out of Netanyahu’s book of failures.”

Nigerian Newssphere had earlier reported that Trump disclosed that American troops, working alongside the Nigerian Armed Forces, carried out a coordinated military operation that resulted in the death of al-Minuki in Africa.

According to the US president, the mission followed extensive intelligence gathering and strategic coordination aimed at tracking the ISIS leader’s activities across the continent.

United States President Donald Trump has announced the killing of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, whom he described as the “most active terrorist in the world,” during a joint military operation in Nigeria.

In a post shared on Truth Social on Saturday morning, Trump said the operation was carried out by American forces in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Nigeria following his directive.

According to the US president, al-Minuki was the second-in-command of ISIS globally and had been responsible for terror activities across Africa.

Trump stated that the terrorist believed he could evade capture while hiding in Africa, but intelligence sources continued to monitor his activities.

“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield,” Trump wrote.

He added, “Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS globally, thought he could hide in Africa, but little did he know we had sources who kept us informed on what he was doing.

“He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa or help plan operations to target Americans. With his removal, ISIS’s global operation is greatly diminished.”

Trump also expressed appreciation to the Nigerian government for its cooperation during the operation, thanking the country for its “partnership on this operation.”

Naira to Dollar exchange rate today, May 15, 2026: Nigerian currency extends depreciation against the dollar

0

The Naira sustained its depreciation against the United States dollar at both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets, ending the week on a negative note.

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, showed that the Naira weakened slightly at the official market on Friday, trading at N1,371.04 per dollar compared to N1,370.89 exchanged on Thursday.

This indicates that the Nigerian currency lost N0.15 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis at the official foreign exchange window.

At the parallel market, the Naira also recorded a sharp decline, closing at N1,415 per dollar on Friday, compared to N1,395 traded on Thursday and maintained over the previous four days.

The depreciation comes despite a three-day rise in Nigeria’s foreign reserves, which climbed to $48.51 billion as of May 13, 2026, according to figures released by the apex bank.

The latest decline follows Thursday’s loss recorded by the Naira against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

During the week under review, the local currency posted mixed performances, recording both gains and losses against major foreign currencies.

Chike: Married Women attracted to Romantic Singers — Sunny Neji

0

Veteran Nigerian singer Sunny Neji has said musicians who perform love and relationship-themed songs often face temptation from female admirers, including married women.

Speaking during a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, the music veteran said married women are naturally attracted to artists known for romantic songs.

Neji made the remarks while reacting to the controversy surrounding an alleged affair between a Nigerian musician and the wife of a popular media personality, a situation reportedly linked to the couple’s divorce.

According to him, attraction from fans is common for singers in the romance genre, but artists must exercise discipline and avoid getting involved in inappropriate relationships.

“If you are an artist who sings love and relationship-based songs, married women will naturally be drawn to you. That is normal, but what happens next depends on the choices you make. It is left for you to be disciplined and avoid temptations,” he said.

This comes amid the recent controversy that surrounds Nigerian musician Chike and Sandra, the estranged wife of media personality Frank Edoho.

Recall that audio conversion emerged of Sandra in a romantic talk with Chike, which stirred reactions on X.

2027: Jonathan knows fate today

0

The Federal High Court in Abuja is set to deliver judgment today in a suit challenging the eligibility of former President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2027 presidential election.

The suit was instituted by lawyer Johnmary Jideobi, who is seeking an order restraining Jonathan from participating in the 2027 presidential race on constitutional grounds.

At the last hearing, Jonathan’s counsel, Chief Chris Uche, SAN, urged the court to dismiss the case, arguing that the matter had already been settled by both the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal.

According to Uche, the former president only became aware of the suit through media reports, prompting his legal team to file a notice of preliminary objection, counter-affidavit, and written address challenging the action.

The proceedings, however, suffered delays after the plaintiff and other parties in the matter, including the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, failed to appear in court on two separate occasions.

The court had earlier warned that it might impose costs against the plaintiff over the repeated absence.

Although Jonathan’s lawyer requested that the case be struck out for lack of diligent prosecution, Justice Peter Lifu declined the application, stating that all parties should be given one final opportunity in the interest of fair hearing.

Justice Lifu subsequently directed that fresh hearing notices be served on the plaintiff, INEC, and the Attorney-General of the Federation before adjourning the matter for judgment.

How Desmond Elliot, Obasa almost made Tinubu sack me – Gbajabiamila

0

Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has revealed how the political crisis surrounding the attempted impeachment of Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa almostt led to his dismissal in 2025.

Gbajabiamila made the disclosure while addressing political stakeholders in Lagos, stating that the alleged involvement of lawmaker Desmond Elliott in the Assembly crisis nearly put his position at risk.

According to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, President Bola Tinubu eventually withdrew support for Elliott’s bid for a fourth term in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Recounting the incident, Gbajabiamila said Tinubu summoned him to his residence in Abuja during the height of the Obasa impeachment controversy.

“I almost lost my job as chief of stafff to President Tinubu last year. President Tinubu called me to his study in his Abuja house during the Obasa impeachment saga and asked me if Desmond Elliott was my boy. I replied to the president that he’s my boy,” he said.

He further explained that Tinubu informed him that intelligence reports linked Elliott to lawmakers allegedly behind the crisis in the Assembly.

“President Tinubu then told me that he heard that Desmond was part of the people causing problems in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“Immediately, I told the President that Desmond wasn’t part of them, but the president replied to me and said that from the intelligence he got, Desmond was part of them,” Gbajabiamila added.

The chief of staff said he immediately contacted Elliott after the meeting and advised him to distance himself from the group allegedly involved in the impeachment plot if he had any connection with them.

“After that meeting, I called Desmond and told him what the president said and asked him to leave the group if he was part ofit.. Three days later, the DSS DG called me and said there’s a problem.

“He said your name is beingmentioned,d that you’re the one behind the impeachmentsaga,a and that you’re supporting Desmond,” he stated.

Gbajabiamila said he denied involvement and informed the DSSdirector-generall that he had already spoken with Elliott, who denied participating in the alleged plot.

“I then called Desmond to make a public statement to deny his involvement in the impeachment saga, but till today, he hasn’t done it,” he said.
