A freshers’ celebration at the Federal University of Education (FUE) Kontagora turned deadly early Thursday when a student was stabbed to death inside the school hall.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed that the incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. on April 5, 2026.
The victim, identified as 25-year-old Seyi Simon, reportedly got into an altercation with 18-year-old Jafar Musa from Angwan-Gwari, Kontagora. The disagreement escalated, leading Musa to stab Simon with a dagger.
Simon was rushed to General Hospital, Kontagora, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Jafar Musa is now in police custody as investigations continue.
SP Abiodun urged students and members of the public to remain calm and allow justice to take its course. The tragedy has shaken the FUE Kontagora community and raised concerns over campus security during student events.
