The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nana Nandap, on Thursday paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Director General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. (Dr) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, in Abuja.
A move seen as a major boost to Nigeria’s security and identity-management systems.
In a statement by Ayodele Babalola, spokesperson to NIMC DG, on Thursday, Nandap, who was accompanied by members of her management team, said the long-standing partnership between NIS and NIMC remains central to strengthening border security, enhancing identity verification, and improving service delivery nationwide.
She stressed that deeper collaboration between both agencies is key to building a secure and efficient national identity ecosystem.
Welcoming the delegation, Coker-Odusote reaffirmed NIMC’s readiness to expand joint initiatives with the Immigration Service. She emphasised the importance of maintaining high data integrity standards, streamlining operations, and deploying stronger identity infrastructure to better safeguard Nigeria’s borders.
Both agencies pledged a renewed commitment to work more closely in advancing policies that support national security, operational efficiency, and technological innovation across the country’s identity and border-management systems
