Popular Nigerian gospel singer and evangelist, Olubunmi Akinnaanu, widely known as Omije Ojumi, has passed away.
Omije Ojumi died on Monday, January 12, 2026, at a hospital in Lagos after battling a prolonged illness.
Her death was confirmed in a statement issued by her family and shared on Instagram by fellow gospel singer, Alayo Melody.
“With great sadness, we announce the passing of Omije Ojumi. May God grant her eternal rest,” the statement read.
DAILY POST recalls that the gospel singer’s death came barely two months after her colleagues appealed to the public for financial assistance to support her treatment following a severe leg ailment.
