Iran: How Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, others made costly bargain for backing US, Israel—Adamu Garba

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has alleged that several Gulf nations are facing severe repercussions after supporting the United States and Israel in their military offensive against Iran.

In a post shared on X on Monday, Garba claimed that Iranian drone strikes had ignited fires at Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura oil refinery and port facilities, while also destroying desalination plants in the United Arab Emirates.

According to him, the region has descended into turmoil, with critical infrastructure reportedly targeted.

“The entire gulf is on fire; however, the US is focusing on protecting Israel against Hezbollah,” he wrote.

Garba further asserted that Gulf States, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, had entered into what he described as a “costly bargain” by aligning themselves with Washington and Tel Aviv.

His comments come amid escalating tensions following reports that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed on Saturday after coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets.

Iranian media also reported that members of Khamenei’s family, including his daughter, grandchild, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law, were among those killed in the attack.
