The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he would secure overwhelming support from Nigerians if he decides to contest the presidency.
Speaking on Monday during a media chat with selected journalists, Wike expressed strong confidence in his popularity across the country, insisting that Nigerians still hold him in high regard.
According to him, should he enter the presidential race, he is certain of receiving massive votes nationwide.
The former Rivers State governor said his ability to relate with everyday Nigerians sets him apart, adding that his track record in office continues to speak for him. He cited his tenure as governor and his current role as FCT minister as evidence of his capacity to deliver results.
Wike also maintained that his political structure remains formidable in the nation’s capital, stating that even if the recently concluded area council elections in Abuja were to be conducted again, candidates loyal to him would emerge victorious.
“Nigerians still love me, and if I run for the presidential election, they will vote for me massively”.
