A member of the terrorist group Boko Haram has reportedly claimed that the group’s actions are rooted in their interpretation of religious teachings, according to a video circulating online.
The footage, which was first shared by former Nigerian special forces member Daniel Somtochukwu, shows armed individuals dressed in camouflage issuing warnings of further attacks. In the video, the speaker threatens continued violence and suggests an expansion of their activities.
Sources indicate that the video was recorded on April 6, 2026, but only began gaining widespread attention on April 14.
The group also reportedly mentioned plans to intensify attacks, particularly in areas such as Borno State, which has long been affected by insurgency.
The development follows the recent release of multiple videos by the group showing kidnapped victims, including men, women, and children, raising renewed concerns over security in the region.
Authorities have yet to officially respond to the latest video, but security analysts say such messages are often intended to spread fear and demonstrate the group’s continued presence.
