BREAKING: Senate confirms 64 ambassadorial nominees except one

The Senate has approved the appointment of 64 nominees for career and non-career ambassadorial positions following the consideration of a report by its Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The committee’s chairman, Senator Sani Bello, presented the report during plenary, after which lawmakers unanimously adopted its recommendations.

However, during deliberations, Senator Sahabi Yau raised concerns over the absence of any nominee from Zamfara State on the list. He urged the Senate to officially draw the President’s attention to the omission.

Responding, the Senate President acknowledged the concern, explaining that the list presented was not exhaustive. He assured lawmakers that the issue would be communicated to the President, adding that additional ambassadorial nominees are expected and that Zamfara State would be included in subsequent appointments.
