Hon. Bliss Alabi Oshionogue has been removed as Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area following his impeachment by the legislative arm of the council.
The decision was communicated through a letter signed by seven councillors, who endorsed the impeachment.
The development occurred only hours after a scheduled peace meeting between Oshionogue and the seven aggrieved councillors failed to take place at the Edo State House of Assembly, further deepening the political crisis in the council.
