Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, are scheduled to take on Jordan in an international friendly in Amman this March, Nigerian Newssphere reports.
The encounter is part of Jordan’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup as they intensify preparations ahead of the global tournament.
However, Nigeria’s participation in the friendly remains subject to FIFA’s forthcoming decision on the country’s eligibility protest involving the Democratic Republic of Congo. The outcome of the ruling will determine whether the West Africans can honor the fixture.
In addition to the proposed clash with Jordan, the Super Eagles are also reportedly in discussions with Iran over another friendly match penciled in for March.
Jordan will be making their maiden appearance at the FIFA World Cup this summer. Coached by Jamal Sellami, the team has been drawn in a challenging group alongside reigning champions Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.
