Yuletide won’t be a disaster for Nigerians—Tinubu warns against ‘Alcohol’ intake

As Nigeria approaches 2026, President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defeating banditry and terrorism across the country.

The President also cautioned Nigerians to celebrate responsibly during the Yuletide season, warning against excessive alcohol consumption and actions that could endanger lives.

Tinubu gave the advice while receiving organizers of the Eyo Festival, who paid him a courtesy visit at his Lagos residence ahead of the annual cultural event scheduled for December 27.

He urged citizens to embrace moderation and peaceful coexistence during the festive period, stressing the importance of safety and unity.

Expressing joy over the preservation of cultural heritage, Tinubu described the Eyo Festival as a symbol of harmony, love, and brotherhood. He said it was an honor to return home and witness the people celebrating in peace and good health.

The president prayed for a joyous Christmas and assured Nigerians that the holiday season would bring blessings rather than tragedy. He called on citizens to rejoice, dance, and celebrate peacefully, emphasizing that no life should be put at risk.

Tinubu noted that Lagos and Nigeria as a whole were making steady progress, adding that the festive celebrations reflected the gains of national development.

He concluded by praying for God’s blessings on Lagos and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, while reiterating his administration’s resolve to overcome insecurity, banditry, and terrorism.

“The coming holidays will not be a disaster for Nigeria, God will bless all of you, you stay in peace, rejoice in peace, dance in peace, no alcohol, no danger to anybody’s life, and everybody is a member of this great family”, he said.
