No fewer than 100,000 supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Lega Local Government Area of Kebbi State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The mass defection took place during a mega rally held over the weekend. According to the ADC’s mobilization handle on X, the number of defectors exceeded 120,000.
Nigerian Newssphere reports that the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, a native of Kebbi State, has been actively mobilizing politicians and supporters to join the opposition party.
Malami, who recently adopted the ADC as his political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections, is currently being detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The ADC has continued to record an influx of defectors in various parts of the country, strengthening its presence ahead of future elections.
