Popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has explained why he no longer posts photos of his children with his estranged wife, May Edochie, amid ongoing criticism on social media.
The actor addressed the issue while speaking on the KAA Truth podcast with host Kel Armstrong Amobi, following accusations that he only celebrates the children of his second wife, Judy Austin, while neglecting his other children.
Yul dismissed claims that he had abandoned his children, insisting he remains in regular contact with them and continues to support them financially. He revealed that he recently sent money to his second son through May Edochie’s bank account to ensure proper records were kept.
According to him, his second son, who is 17, recently gained admission into the university and completed his matriculation ceremony. Yul said they communicated ahead of the event, though his busy schedule prevented him from attending.
“I’m in constant communication with my children,” he said. “People say I abandoned them, and sometimes I just laugh because my children have never complained.”
The actor further explained that his decision to stop posting his children online is based on a court order linked to an ongoing divorce case. He noted that the directive was issued for the children’s safety and restricts him from sharing anything related to them on social media.
“There’s a court order saying I shouldn’t post my children anymore,” Yul said. “It’s not because I don’t love them. They are my blood.”
He added that regardless of issues between him and his estranged wife, the welfare of the children remains his priority.
