Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the President of the Ugwumba Centre for Leadership Development, has received the City of East Orange’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Human Capacity Development during an official meeting with the city’s Mayor, Ted Green, in the United States.
The recognition came as both parties commenced discussions on a strategic partnership between the City of East Orange and the Ugwumba Centre aimed at promoting leadership development, human capacity building, and sustainable progress.
Speaking after receiving the award, the President of the Ugwumba Centre, Uche Nwosu, a former Chief of Staff to former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, described the meeting with Mayor Green as the beginning of a collaboration that would be coordinated by the Ugwumba Centre for Leadership.
According to him, the partnership is designed to advance leadership initiatives, strengthen human capacity development, and create opportunities that will benefit communities in both Nigeria and the United States.
“I had the honor of being received by the Mayor of East Orange, Mayor Ted Green, in a meeting that marked the beginning of a strategic partnership between the City of East Orange, New Jersey, and Ugwumba Center (Imo State), Nigeria,” he said.
He added: “This important collaboration, to be coordinated by the Ugwumba Center for Leadership, is aimed at advancing leadership, human capacity development, and sustainable progress for our people.”
He expressed gratitude for receiving the City’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Human Capacity Development and for being decorated with the official City Pin by Mayor Green.
“I am deeply humbled to have received the City of East Orange’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Human Capacity Development and to have been decorated with the official City Pin by Mayor Ted Green,” he said.
He thanked the mayor for the recognition and appreciated the hospitality extended to his delegation, which included Engr. Kings Umege, Hon. Chief Sir Engr. Ewhoma Tony Okpokparoro (Oilmoney), Prince Anozie Ugenyi, and Engr. Kizito Umege.
He expressed optimism that the collaboration would deepen ties between the two communities and deliver lasting developmental opportunities.
“Together, we are building bridges that will create lasting opportunities and strengthen the future of our communities,” he added.
