Lauretta Onochie, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has taken a swipe at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, claiming his political influence has effectively ended.
In a post on X on Sunday, Onochie alleged that President Bola Tinubu and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma have abandoned Wike and instead placed Rivers State Governor, Siminilayi Fubara, firmly in control.
According to her, the political tide has turned in Fubara’s favour, predicting that the governor would not only secure a second term but also play a decisive role in choosing Wike’s successor before the end of 2026.
Mocking the former Rivers governor, Onochie wrote: “You have been buried politically already.
“Not only have @officialABAT and @Hope_Uzodimma1 thrown you under the bus, the keys of the bus were handed over to @SimFubaraKSC.
“How he drives the bus depends on how much of your pride you can swallow.”
She further claimed that Fubara could regain “the six months” she alleged were taken from him, win re-election, and ultimately become Wike’s political godfather.
“Fubara will nominate your replacement before the end of 2026. Fubara is your new Godfather,” she added.
