The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that Nigeria is currently without a president, following the deadly attack on a village market in Niger State.
Sowore made the remark while reacting to the assault in Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area, where suspected bandits killed at least 30 residents.
Nigerian Newssphere had reported that the attackers stormed the community market, opened fire on unsuspecting villagers, set parts of the area ablaze, and abducted several people before fleeing.
Responding in a post on X, Sowore criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as a lack of response and leadership after the incident.
He said it was troubling that the president had yet to publicly address the killings or offer condolences to the victims’ families.
“More than 30 people have been murdered in cold blood in Niger State, and there has been no word, no empathy, and no leadership from Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Sowore wrote.
