President Bola Tinubu has put forward the name of the immediate past Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, for appointment as a non-career ambassador.
Also included in the new batch of nominees are former senator Ita Enang; Chioma Ohakim, a former First Lady of Imo State; and Abdulrahman Dambazau, a former Minister of Interior and retired Chief of Army Staff.
The nominations come just a week after Tinubu forwarded another list—featuring Reno Omokri, former INEC Chairman Mahmoud Yakubu, and several others—to the Senate for ambassadorial consideration.
Recall that the earlier ambassadorial list has sparked criticism from different quarters, with many expressing concerns over the selections.
