The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
Checks by a Nigerian Newssphere correspondent across parts of Abuja on Monday morning showed that NNPCL retail outlets have lowered the price of petrol to N815 per litre, down from N835.
The latest adjustment represents N20 reduction and has already taken effect at NNPCL filling stations in Wuse Zones 6 and 4, Keffi–Abuja Road, and along the Kubwa Expressway.
An official of NNPCL, who spoke to DAILY POST on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the new price regime was implemented on Sunday evening.
Despite the reduction, the N815 per litre price remains N79 higher than the N739 per litre currently sold at MRS filling stations backed by the Dangote Refinery nationwide.
Nigerian Newssphere recalls that on December 19, 2025, NNPCL slashed its petrol price by N80 to N835 per litre, following intense competition in the downstream oil sector sparked by Dangote Refinery’s decision to cut its gantry price to N699 per litre.
