There is jubilation in the camp of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the United States District Court of Columbia denied a request by former President Atiku Abubakar’s attorneys to force the Central Intelligence Agency, CIA, Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and Internal Revenue Service to release information on Nigeria’s President.

Recall that Atiku’s agent, Aaron Greenspan had filed the emergency motion seeking to compel the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys (“EOUSA”), the Department of State, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Central Intelligence Agency to immediately release of the documents following the Nigerian Supreme Court’s hearing of appeals from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi against Tinubu.

He pleaded for a quick release of the documents because they need to be presented at the Supreme Court.

Greenspan told the court that the Supreme Court deliberately moved the appeals hearing by Atiku and Obi to Monday to render his suit before the U.S. court nugatory.

He had asked that the documents on Tinubu be released by October 31.

Ruling on the appeal, Judge Beryl A. Howell declined Greenspan’s request because he failed to satisfy the relevant conditions for the grant of such a prayer contained in a motion for an emergency hearing, which he filed on Monday.

In the civil suit, with number 23-1816, Greenspan also asks for similar information and documents on Mueez.

Adegboyega Akande is said to have died as of November 16, 2022.

In rejecting his motion to immediately release the documents, the U.S. court.said Greenspan failed to convince the court of the public issues that would cause it to overlook the privacy rights of President Tinubu.

Meanwhile, Tinubu’s lawyers have filed a motion at the court seeking to be allowed to defend the President in the suit.

Recall that the Supreme Court in Nigeria on Monday reserved judgement concerning Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party challenging Tinubu’s victory at the presidential polls.

The National Information Technology Development has successfully trained 2,785 Artificial Intelligence Developers.

Mr Kashifu Inuwa, the Director General of NITDA, disclosed this on Friday at a ceremony to mark the National Information Technology Development Agency’s (NITDA) AI Developers Training (NAIDT) programme anniversary with the support of Google Developers Group, GDG.

The DG noted that the training aimed to empower Nigerian youths with digital skills and innovation.

He, however, decried the poor participation of women in the programme, adding that women represented only about 15 per cent of the total participants.

“Then, I thought that we used to reject National Youth Service Corps Members, students on internship who are supposed to be on compulsory one-year service.

“From then, we decided to train them through our National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, NCAIR and empower them with AI skills instead of rejection.

“We started it as a challenge to them (GDG) on how we can build an ecosystem that AI powers, and today we have trained 2,785 young Nigerians after one year,” he said.

“AI is a social engineering technology where we can build systems and solutions for ourselves, and if women are not represented, AI systems can make decisions excluding them.

“We don’t want anyone to be excluded; we want to ensure inclusivity,” he said.

Two programme beneficiaries, Amina Shiga and Zubairu Tahir, confirmed they had had a good AI journey that had positively impacted their knowledge.

They commended NITDA, saying that their perspective on AI had changed and improved.

The scheme, which kicked off in August last year, has gone through 12 cohorts with participants across every work of life in Nigeria.
