The Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, Simon Ekpa, said it will back all United Nations Human Rights Treaties in its coming Biafran Declaration Convention.

Ekpa disclosed this in an X space meeting on Thursday.
According to him, supporting all UN treaties on human rights is sufficient to amplify the continued marginalisation of the Nigerian government against Biafra and its people in the South-East region.

He noted that Biafrans have been under attack in the history of Nigeria since 1967.

He reinterprets that the continued marginalisation of Biafra by the Nigerian government is the sole reason for self-rule.

“That Biafra Government to assent to all United Nations Human Rights Treaties during the Convention.

“We are agitating for Biafra independence due to the persistent marginalisation by the Nigerian government,” he said.

This comes as Ekpa announced November 28th to December 2nd 2024 for the Biafra Declaration.
Recall that recently Ekpa sent a letter of invitation to the Nigerian government ahead of the conversion.

Recall that since 2021, Nnamdi Kanu had been under detention by the Nigerian government over Biafra agitation.

It was reported that Igbo Jah was shot by an operative of the Anti-Cult of Command on Friday.

The killing had attracted wide outrage among youths in Enugu State, which resulted in protests.

Reacting to the death of Igbo Jah, Ekpa said Enugu State will be on lockdown on Tuesday 29.10.2024 to fish out his killers.

According to him, there should be an end to the incessant killings of Igbo in the state.

“The entire Enugu State will be under lockdown on Tuesday, 29.10.2024; this day will be used to fish out the killers of this innocent man. Enough is enough”, he stated.

The Prime Minister of Biafra Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa said all arrangements have been adequately planned to host its Declaration of the Restoration of Independence of Biafra Convention, 2024.

Ekpa disclosed this in a statement on Thursday through his official X account.

This comes as Ekpa invites Biafrans to to the convention.

According to him, the convention, which is slanted to hold on November 29 to December 3, 2024, in Lahti, Finland, is part of the fundamental rights of all Biafrans to self-rule.

He noted that over 50 million Igbos have in the past months legally voted for the Biafra Referendum from the Nigerian government.

“On behalf of the Biafra Government (BRGIE), we are happy to invite you to the Declaration of the Restoration of Independence of Biafra Convention (DRIBC 2024), which will be held in Lahti, Finland, from the 29th of November till the 3rd of December 2024
.
“All arrangements have been adequately made by the Biafra Government (BRGIE) for your accreditation to the event.

“You have served under Nigeria, and you are well aware that the establishment of Nigeria as an artificial experiment by the British has done nothing but the continuous violation of our fundamental basic human rights. For this reason, joining hands with your fellow Biafrans in exercising your inalienable rights to self-determination is a moral obligation and, most importantly, a fight for self-preservation.

“The steps we are taking for the actualisation of our independent state are by an internationally recognised way of referendum. Already well over 50 million Biafrans have cast their ballots, with more expected to vote in the homeland and diaspora. We are excited and hoping to welcome you to the convention,” he stated.

Recall that barely one month ago, Ekpa wooed elites from the south-East to participate in its Biafra declaration convention.

The Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, Simon Ekpa has denied the claim that he said the World Bank through the former Nigerian Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala agreed to loan the Biafra Government a sum of $57.5 billion.

Ekpa made this clarification in a statement on Thursday.

His comment came after Iweala described a fake statement from an impersonated handle of Ekpa on X saying the World Bank had okayed a $57.5 billion loan for Biafra agitation.

“I know no sensible person will believe what is contained in the outrageous tweet below but in these troubled times, it is important to underscore that the statement is false. Again I enjoin all those seeking to misuse my name to desist”, Iweala, the Director General of World Trade Organisation stated in her response to the fake X account on Thursday through her official handle!

However, reacting to Iweala’s statement, Ekpa said he never made any comment regarding the World Bank loan.

He stressed the that statement is false.

“I never tweeted such, it is even surprising that you can tweet this because your name was mentioned, we have been tweeting about the terrorism in Nigeria against your people and you never responded nor showed any remorse. Here you are, defending what nonentities did with your name, but have been mute about all the killings by the government you served. I congratulate you for always defending yourself and your integrity, even when they are photoshopped.

“It shows you are a mother. Thank you for defending yourself but I never tweeted such a thing, it is false and fake”.

The Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile has clarified that there is no sit-at-home on Tuesday, 22nd October 2024 in South East.

He disclosed this in a statement on Monday through his official Twitter handle.

Ekpa stressed that there was no sit-at-home on Tuesday apart from the one observed on Monday to press home the demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and for the delegitimisation of Nigeria within Biafraland.

The pro-Biafra agitator comes to counter claims making the round that there will be a Sit-at-home on Tuesday.

However, Ekpa clarified that there will not be a sit-at-home on a claimed date.

According to him, he will be live on his account to tell Biafrans why there is no sit-at-home on Tuesday.

“Ekpa has cleared the air on the rumored sit at home and he promised to be live on X space and to announce to the Biafrans that there is no sit at home tomorrow”, he said.

Recall that since the rearrest on Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian Government in 2021, many Biafrans have declared Mondays as sit-at-home in protest against his detention and the marginalization of the region.

The Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, Simon Ekpa has tackled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Peter Obi, Presidential candidate of the Labour Party at the 2023 election for paying tribute to former Nigeria Head of State, Yakubu Gowon on his 90th Birthday Anniversary.

Ekpa disclosed this in a recent statement at the weekend on his official X handle.

His comment comes in reaction to Tinubu and Obi’s birthday tributes to Gowon on Saturday.

Tinubu in his tribute noted that the former military head did a lot for Nigeria and served the country meritoriously.

Similarly, Obi in his tribute to Gowon said, “Your life of service to our great nation, Nigeria, stand as one of sacrifice, leadership, and unity”.

However, Ekpa, a renowned pro-agitator described the tributes as ‘disgrace’.

He said that many Biafrans were killed due to Gowon’s pursuit of Nigeria during the famous Nigerian Civil War from 1967 to 1970.

According to Ekpa, if Nigeria was good Gowon would have retained in the Country instead of staying in the United Kingdom.

“Tinubu is a disgrace for his Tribute to Gowon. Gowon killed Biafrans for one Nigeria and at 90 is not proudly staying in Nigeria but ran to the UK. While the people he killed are returning at 70, he is running to London. Our happiness is that we banned him from entering Biafraland and he chickened out. He should come if he is a man”, he said.

Ekpa added in response to Obi’s tribute, “Nigeria will happen to you and it will not be long. Just as you are proudly confessing it, those following you will also talk like they usually talk when Nigeria happens to others”.

Recall that Obi came under fire by his supporters after his Tribute to Gowon.

The Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, Simon Ekpa said he sacrificed his political career in Finland for Biafra agitation.

Ekpa disclosed this in a statement through the official X handle on Thursday.

According to him for the past years, his focus has been on the actualization of Biafra self-rule.

He stressed there is nothing hallow to him other than the cause of liberating Biafra from marginalization by the Nigerian government.

“I have decided not to take part in the coming election and focus on Biafra Liberation in Finland.

“I have served my people, community and region since 2012 and I have delivered all I promised them. From good environment for children playground to transportation to construction”, he stated.

Recall that Ekpa had announced that on December 2 2024 Biafra will be declared.

This comes amid his continued criticism of the Nigerian government despite the plan to extradite him.

In July 2021, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra was rearrested by the Nigerian government and has remained in custody despite court judgments and calls for his release.

Tariff hike: NCC takes action against Elon Musk Starlink

0

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has said that Elon Musk Starlink’s recent upward review of its subscription packages was implemented without prior approval from the Commission.

The Director, of Public Affairs of NCC, Reuben Muoka, said this in a brief statement on Tuesday.

He said the decision by Starlink to unilaterally review their subscription packages upwards did not receive the approval of the NCC.

The Director also added that the action of the company is in contravention of Sections 108 and 111 of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003, and Starlink’s License Conditions regarding tariffs.

Mouka said that the Commission commenced pre-enforcement action on the licensee on the 3rd of October, 2024

“The company’s decision to adjust its prices without approval undermines regulatory stability in the telecommunications sector,” he said.

“We will take appropriate enforcement measures against any such actions by licensees.”

By this response, the NCC maintains its intent to uphold regulatory standards.

This comes as Starlink recently hiked its monthly subscription fees in Nigeria by a staggering 97 percent, raising the standard residential plan from N38,000 to N75,000. The company attributed the price increase to “excessive inflation.”

We’re in talks with US govt on new Biafra Policy, Liberation-Simon Ekpa

The Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government In-Exile has said that he commenced talks with the United States Government over a new Biafra policy framework and Biafra Liberation.

Ekpa disclosed this in a statement through his official X handle on Monday, noting that he spoke to Biafrans during a virtual tour in Australia.

He noted that the call for Biafra self-determination is rooted in historical grievances, economic disparity, and socio-political marginalization by the Nigerian government.

According to him, it is a passion for the struggle for self-rule that made over 50 million Igbos vote for the Biafra referendum.

He stressed that BRGIE’s recent consultations with US congressmen were driven by the backdrop of creating a new policy framework over Biafra.

The call for Biafra self-determination is deeply rooted in historical grievances, economic disparity, and socio-political marginalization and now with the renewed Islamic Usman Dan Fodio Jihadist Expansionist which is being resisted, our struggle has become a struggle for the survival of the Biafra people.

“For over 50 million Biafrans who already voted in the ongoing self-referendum, the argument for leaving Nigeria is not just about identity but survival, Peace, Unity, Equity and Progress.

“My fellow Biafran we have seen the paradigm shift in the cause of Biafra Liberation, as meetings and consultations with the members of the US Congress continue to receive its desired attention. “Our meeting with the US Congressmen. We have taken the Biafra Liberation to the global stage for the very first time since after the war, I will share with you some of the key outcomes of our recent meeting with US Congressmen regarding the recognition of Biafra’s independence.

“We met with the most senior members of the U.S. government, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson, the third highest official of the US government, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael McCaul, and a plethora of members of Congress. These members are now well-educated about Biafra, and we are closely working with them to form a new Biafra policy for the US government, which until now has not had one.

“For most members of Congress, we met with, this had been the first time the Biafra issue had ever been presented to them. As such, much of our discussions is providing an informational briefing on Biafra, as well as the malign nature of the Nigerian government. We also discuss our activities, such as the self-referendum and the upcoming December 2nd declaration.

“On Biafra’s independence declaration? The reception by members of Congress to our message has been overwhelmingly positive. Not a single member of Congress we met with expressed support for the Nigerian terrorist government. So the main challenge currently is to fill the information gap in Washington, DC, and to educate as many members of Congress as possible.

“There were explicit commitments and assurances given by members of congress we have met to support the Biafra cause, albeit through different expressions. We are now working with the members of Congress on several groundbreaking initiatives, which are ongoing and will be made public at the appropriate time”, he stated.

This comes after Ekpa announced the Biafra Declaration on December 2, 2024.
