Popular Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has dismissed reports alleging he owes $50,000 in wedding planning fees, describing the claim as “crazy.”
The singer reacted on Sunday evening following widespread reports that Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, CEO of the event planning company behind his wedding to Chioma, had accused him of failing to pay the outstanding amount.
The allegation, which quickly went viral on social media, was accompanied by a purported screenshot of a chat in which the event planner was said to have threatened legal action over the alleged debt.
However, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe debunked the report, stating clearly on her Instagram story that the information circulating online was “false and misleading.”
Reacting to the controversy on X (formerly Twitter), Davido expressed outrage over the claim, describing it as insulting and unfounded.
“This is just crazy atp (at this point),” the singer wrote.
