Famous rapper and singer Nicki Minaj has alleged that influential figures in the music industry deliberately sideline talented artists who refuse to conform to their expectations.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Bryce Crawford Podcast, Minaj claimed that many of the obstacles faced by her and other gifted musicians were orchestrated by powerful individuals within the industry, although she did not mention any names.
According to the rapper, these figures view artists as assets meant to generate profit and often work against those who choose not to align with their interests.
Minaj revealed that she has endured what she described as “constant spiritual warfare” throughout her career because she refused to play by the rules set by such powerful industry players.
Reflecting on her journey, the award-winning artist said she wished she had understood earlier how deeply spiritual the music business can be, noting that she felt unprepared for the battles she encountered.
“It was constant spiritual warfare. I wish I kind of knew sooner that this music industry was such a spiritual experience because I felt like I brought a knife to a gunfight,” she said.
