Fani-Kayode begged Atiku before Tinubu made him ambassador—Dele Momodu

Media mogul Dele Momodu has fired back at Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to Germany and former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, alleging that the latter sought political alternatives before securing an appointment from President Bola Tinubu.

In a post on X on Thursday, Momodu claimed Fani-Kayode had a backup plan in case he was not considered for a government role.

“He was already working on Plan B and begging a few of us to help him reach out to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar if all hopes evaporate,” Momodu wrote.

The publisher further took a swipe at Fani-Kayode’s personality, stating, “Femi without power is like a fish out of water.”

Momodu also reflected on his long-standing familiarity with Fani-Kayode’s family, contrasting it with his criticism of the former minister’s conduct.

“I knew Chief Babaremilekun Adetokunbo Fani-Kayode… long before I met his querulous, garrulous, and cantankerous son,” he said.

He went on to criticize Fani-Kayode’s life trajectory, adding, “Femi is a classic case of a wasted investment… but turned out an outright and incurable thug.”

Momodu further referenced Fani-Kayode’s expected diplomatic posting, describing it as long anticipated.

“For Femi, it is a fulfillment of a long-expected appointment… I felt his deep frustration and depression,” he wrote.

He concluded with a stinging remark on Fani-Kayode’s current conduct: “It is such a pity that now that Tinubu has finally looked at his side… he is still busy fighting… instead of seeking urgent rehabilitation into the comity of sane human beings.”
