Dangote Refinery reaffirms N699 petrol price, encourages marketers to lift products

Dangote Refinery has reaffirmed that its petrol gantry price remains fixed at N699 per litre, assuring petroleum marketers of continued availability for immediate pickup.

The clarification was issued in a notice posted on the company’s official X account on Thursday, as it sought to allay concerns amid ongoing price adjustments across the downstream market.

The development comes against the backdrop of a decline in retail petrol prices in Abuja, where filling stations are now selling between N739 and N912 per litre.

Recall that the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery last Thursday slashed its gantry price by N129, bringing it down from N828 to N699 per litre. The reduction triggered a ripple effect across the market, forcing private depot owners to lower their prices to between N703 and N800 per litre.

Reacting to the development, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, urged members to take advantage of Dangote Refinery’s offer.

Maigandi also welcomed the refinery’s agreement to commence direct supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to registered IPMAN members, including free delivery to filling stations nationwide, a programme scheduled to begin in January 2026.
