A Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has nullified the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention held on November 15, 2025.
In its ruling, the court restrained Turaki, loyal to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and others from parading themselves as national officers of the party.
The court further declared that the Caretaker Committee led by Abdulrahman, alongside Senator Samuel Anyanwu, remains the only recognized National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP pending the conduct of a valid national convention.
The Abdulrahman–Anyanwu-led leadership, which is aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was affirmed by the court as the legitimate interim authority of the opposition party.
The judgment is seen as a major relief for the Wike-backed faction within the PDP at the expense of Makinde.
Nigerian Newssphere reports that there has been a cold war between Wike and Makinde in the past days.
