President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday formally inaugurated Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance.
The swearing-in ceremony was held briefly at the State House.
Oyedele succeeds Doris Anite-Uzoka, who has been reassigned as Minister of State in the Ministry of Budget and National Planning. The latest redeployment marks her third ministerial portfolio under the current administration.
Nigerian Newssphere earlier reported that the Senate confirmed Oyedele’s nomination on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, barely 24 hours after President Tinubu transmitted a request for his screening to the lawmakers.
Before his appointment, Oyedele served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he spearheaded efforts aimed at overhauling Nigeria’s tax framework.
