The pupils and teachers abducted in Orire, Oyo State, have regained their freedom after spending more than 50 days in captivity.
Their release was announced on Friday by the Presidency’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, in a post on his verified X account.
“Finally, the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been freed by their abductors,” Onanuga wrote.
The victims were kidnapped in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State and had remained in the custody of their abductors for over seven weeks before regaining their freedom.
