The Nigeria Police Force has rescued the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, along with her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul.
The victims were freed unharmed during a rescue operation carried out on Saturday.
According to reports by Channels Television, two suspected kidnappers were killed during a gun battle with police operatives, while security personnel recovered two firearms from the criminal gang.
Mrs John-Paul and her children were abducted at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while she was taking the boys to school.
Police sources disclosed that sustained intelligence gathering and tactical operations mounted pressure on the kidnappers, eventually forcing them into a confrontation with security operatives and leading to the successful rescue of the victims.
The sources further revealed that security personnel have intensified efforts to track down other members of the kidnapping syndicate. Some of the suspects are believed to have escaped from the scene with gunshot wounds.
Authorities said ongoing operations are focused on apprehending the fleeing criminals and dismantling the entire kidnapping network.
