The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has ordered the immediate prosecution of popular Nigerian TikToker, Peller, following a recent car crash involving him.
According to reports, the social media personality was allegedly involved in a deliberate road accident on Sunday afternoon, shortly after his breakup with his girlfriend and fellow content creator, Jarvis.
A video of the incident, which later circulated widely on social media, sparked outrage among Nigerians, with many condemning the act and urging authorities to revoke his driver’s licence.
Reacting to the incident on Monday, the FRSC, in a statement shared on its official X handle, directed its Lagos State Command to commence legal action against the TikTok star.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Muhammed, expressed concern over the increasing misuse of public roads by entertainers and content creators, warning that such actions pose serious risks to lives and property.
He also called on entertainment industry stakeholders, including the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), content creators, and other associations, to rein in their members and discourage dangerous behaviour on the roads.
Muhammed specifically instructed the Lagos Command to prosecute Peller for reckless driving, use of a mobile phone while driving, and distracted driving, in line with existing traffic laws.
The FRSC further cautioned that fame does not place anyone above the law and cannot be used as a justification for unsafe conduct on public roads.
Nigerian Newssphere reports that Peller involved in a car crash after his Girlfriend Jarvis brokeup with him.
