Fenerbahce head coach, Jose Mourinho, has said one of his fellow country compatriots playing at Paris Saint-Germain deserves to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
In a recent interview with Canal 11, Mourinho named the players as Joao Neves and Nuno Mendes. Vitinha and Goncalo Ramos.
According to the former Chelsea manager, PSG were the best team last season, having won the FrnchbLigue 1, Coupe de France and Champions League.
“I think this PSG team is the best team of the season, and these Portuguese players [Vitinha, Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes]… Gonçalo Ramos played less, despite often being decisive,” Mourinho said.
“I’d like one of them to win [the Ballon d’Or], obviously.
“But then Jorge Mendes will get mad at me because he only thinks [Lamine] Yamal, his player, should win!”
The winner of this year’s Ballon d’Or will be announced in September.
