Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has ordered his legal team to withdraw the suit filed against the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Akpabio made this known on Thursday in his New Year message to Nigerians, explaining that the decision followed personal reflection.
He disclosed that he currently has about nine cases in court against individuals he accused of defaming and slandering his name.
According to him, a message he heard during a church service prompted a change of heart.
“After I listened to the priest, I suddenly realised he was speaking directly to me. As a result, I have directed my solicitor to withdraw all lawsuits against them,” Akpabio said.
The Senate President did not give further details on the cases but emphasized forgiveness and reconciliation as the motivation behind his decision.
