Nigeria-born defender Ime Okon has been listed in South Africa’s provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Head coach Hugo Broos named the 21-year-old among 54 players shortlisted for the continental tournament, with the squad expected to be trimmed to 24.
Okon, born to a Nigerian father and a South African mother, has already earned five caps for Bafana Bafana.
According to the South African Football Association, the final squad will be released “in the coming days.”
CAF has set December 11 as the deadline for all participating nations to submit their final squad lists for AFCON 2025.
