Manchester City climbed to the top of the Premier League standings after grinding out a tense 1-0 victory over Burnley on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s side went into the fixture three points behind Arsenal, having defeated the Gunners 2-1 last weekend.
City struck early, with Erling Haaland opening the scoring in the sixth minute. The Norwegian forward latched onto a pass from Jeremy Doku before calmly lifting the ball over the goalkeeper.
Despite the bright start, City were unable to extend their advantage and were forced to dig deep to secure all three points.
The result sees them move level on 70 points with Arsenal but ahead on goals scored, as both sides share the same
