Mercy Johnson arrests Lady who alleged her husband bought house for mistress- Verydarkman

Popular Nigerian social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has criticised Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson following the arrest of a TikTok content creator, Eedie Bliss, over allegations involving the actress’s family.

Nigerian Newssphere reports that rumours surfaced in December 2025 alleging that Mercy Johnson’s husband, Prince Henry Okojie, had purchased a mansion for another woman who was reportedly pregnant for him outside his marriage. The claims, which were never confirmed, spread widely across social media platforms.

Commenting on the rumours, Eedie Bliss shared a video in which she cited gossip blog Cutie Juls as her source. In the video, she repeated allegations that Mercy Johnson was involved in actions that allegedly led to the woman losing her pregnancy.

Following the video, the TikTok creator was arrested and detained in Abuja after Prince Henry Okojie reportedly filed a petition against her.

The arrest triggered widespread reactions online, with many social media users criticising Mercy Johnson and questioning why action was taken against Eedie Bliss rather than the original source of the claims she referenced.

Reacting to the development, VeryDarkMan condemned the detention and accused the actress of double standards. He argued that defamation is a civil matter and should be handled in court, not through police detention.

He recalled that Mercy Johnson had previously described the arrest of Sammy, the brother of actress Regina Daniels, as unlawful when he was arrested over alleged defamation following a petition by Senator Ned Nwoko.

VeryDarkMan also revealed that Eedie Bliss is expected to get married on Saturday and warned that he would involve his legal team if she is not released.

In a video shared online, he said, “You can’t condemn Ned Nwoko for arresting Sammy over defamation and then turn around to do the same thing through your husband. If you feel defamed, go to court. Stop using the police to oppress people. She even mentioned her source, Cutie Juls. I heard her wedding is this Saturday—release her and go to court.”

The incident has continued to fuel debate online over the use of law enforcement in cases involving alleged defamation.
