3MTT: Over 135,000 Nigerians trained—Minister, Tijani

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, has disclosed that the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program has trained more than 135,000 Nigerians during its pilot phase.

In a statement shared on his X account on Tuesday, Tijani said the programme recorded significant progress across three cohorts, while community learning resources extended digital skills training to over 300,000 additional learners nationwide.

According to the minister, the initiative has also contributed to the creation of about 15,000 jobs and opportunity pathways, strengthening Nigeria’s growing digital talent ecosystem.

He further revealed that more than 1.8 million Nigerians are currently in the 3MTT pipeline as the program works toward its broader goal of equipping three million citizens with in-demand digital skills.

As the program transitions into its scale-up phase, Tijani said the focus will be on deepening impact by strengthening the alumni community, expanding access to opportunities, and ensuring that acquired skills translate into tangible outcomes.

He added that the ministry is inviting feedback from fellows and partners through the #3MTTImpactChallenge and the 3MTT National Impact Reflection to better understand how the initiative has influenced participants’ professional journeys so far.
