2027: Late Buhari’s state PDP collapses structure for ADC to unseat Tinubu

Several members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state of the late former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

A chieftain of the ADC, Austin Okai, disclosed the development in a Facebook post on Monday, saying the defections cut across all levels of the PDP’s structure in the state.

According to Okai, the movement began at the polling unit level and extended through wards and local government areas to the state level. He wrote, “Katsina PDP collapsed structures from polling units, ward, LGA, and state to ADC coalition.”

Nigerian Newssphere reports that the ADC has continued to record a surge in defections from major political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Recently, about 100,000 supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Lega Local Government Area of Kebbi State also defected to the ADC, further strengthening the party’s growing presence across the country.
