France became the first team to secure a place in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Morocco 2-0 in their quarter-final clash on Thursday.
Les Bleus ended Morocco’s impressive tournament run with a composed display, booking their place in the last four for the third consecutive World Cup.
Captain Kylian Mbappe, who missed an opportunity to score in the first half, broke the deadlock after the restart to put Didier Deschamps’ side ahead.
Ousmane Dembele then sealed the victory with his fifth goal of the tournament, doubling France’s advantage and ensuring there would be no comeback from the Atlas Lions.
France will now await the winner of Friday’s quarter-final between Spain and Belgium as they prepare for another World Cup semi-final showdown.
