Brazil football legend Ronaldo Nazário has backed Spain to defeat Argentina comfortably in Sunday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker made the prediction during a conversation with fellow Brazilian and ex-international Denílson on his official TikTok account.
Asked to forecast the outcome of the final, Ronaldo expressed confidence that Spain would emerge champions with ease.
“I think Spain wins and the game will be easy,” Ronaldo said.
He added that Spain and France had been his favourites to lift the trophy from the start of the tournament.
“For me, France and Spain have always been the favourites. I always remember the programme before the France–Spain game. I said the champion would win that game,” he said.
Ronaldo also praised Spain’s style of play, insisting their success is built on a long-established football philosophy rather than just their performances at the 2026 World Cup.
“I think Spain wins easily with football played in an extraordinary way. Their DNA is not just the football played in this World Cup; they have been doing this for a long time,” he added.
Spain booked their place in the final after defeating France in the semi-finals, while Argentina secured their spot by overcoming England, setting up a blockbuster showdown for the World Cup title.
