War: Iran bombs US embassy in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has said two drones launched from Iran struck the United States Embassy in Riyadh, causing a small fire and minor damage to the building.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense disclosed in a statement posted on social media that the embassy came under drone attack in the early hours of Tuesday. Initial reports indicated that the impact triggered a limited fire within the premises.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion, with flames and thick black smoke seen rising above Riyadh’s diplomatic quarter, an area that houses several foreign embassies and missions.

According to Reuters, two sources confirmed that no injuries were recorded, noting that the embassy building was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

The ministry, as cited by The Guardian, also stated that Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed eight additional drones near Riyadh and Al-Kharj.

Officials said investigations are ongoing while confirming that no casualties were reported in the attack.
