Barcelona president, Joan Laporta has named Paris Saint-Germain as the club he wants the Blaugrana to face this season in the UEFA Champions League.
According to Laporta, every football fan in the world will like to see both the French Ligue 1 champions and the Spanish LaLiga champions clash in the Champions League this season.
The 63-year-old stated this in a recent interview with CNN.
“Paris Saint-Germain did very well last season. Unfortunately we could not play against them. But it is a football game that’s pending for the football world.
“Because I think that we were the two most competitive teams and the two teams in better shape in football last season.
“Everybody that likes football said that Barcelona and PSG were the teams offering the best football in the world. I hope that [we face each other] in the new format of Champion League that is organized by UEFA.”
Barcelona were eliminated from the Champions League at the hands of Inter Milan in the semi-final stage, while PSG thrashed the Serie A side 5-0 in the final to win the trophy.
