He equally decried what he described as bad governance and sheer infrastructural decay in the Southwest, stressing that governors in the region have not done enough to tackle poverty.
2. The Naira on Wednesday appreciated to N1,550 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,565 per dollar on Tuesday. But the naira depreciated to N1,537.2 per dollar in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).
3. Dr. Doyin Abiola, wife of Concord Publisher and winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola, is dead. The former managing director and publisher of National Concord was the first Nigerian woman to be an editor of a Nigerian daily newspaper.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a 45-year-old man, Udeme Uko, who was shot inside a church in Ikot Oku Usung village, Ukanafun Local Government Area of the state. It was gathered that Uko was sleeping alongside his wife and children inside the church when gunmen stormed the building and shot him in the head around 12:10 am on Tuesday.
