Chelsea are pushing to sign Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet as the club prepares for the departures of Axel Disasi and Aaron Anselmino before the January transfer window shuts.
Sky Sports News reports that Jacquet has already indicated his desire to complete a move to Stamford Bridge. The decision now rests on whether Chelsea can strike an agreement to bring the defender in immediately or wait until the summer transfer window.
At the same time, Disasi and Anselmino are expected to leave the west London club on loan. The report adds that loan opportunities could open up at Strasbourg and Rennes for the duo.
Chelsea are looking to streamline their squad while also strengthening manager Liam Rosenior’s options for the remainder of the season.
