President Bola Tinubu is reportedly set to announce new ambassadors to Nigeria’s foreign missions worldwide.
According to Arise TV the president may make the announcement as early as next week.
“President Bola Tinubu will announce imminently, new ambassadors and this might be as early as next week.
“Security services have been directed to conclude vetting immediately”, the report said.
This is coming amid ongoing diplomatic tension between Nigeria and the United States of America.
The tension followed recent comments by President Donald Trump, who threatened military intervention in Nigeria over alleged persecution of Christians.
Nigerian Newssphere rports that Tinubu had in September 2023 recalled all ambassadors from Nigeria’s 109 foreign missions comprising 76 embassies, 22 high commissions, and 11 consulates.
